Deep and Dark and Dangerous by Mary Downing Hahn
Deep and Dark and Dangerous

nguyen.amye, June 10, 2010

Deep and Dark and Dangerous, written by Mary Downing Hahn, is a book that is over-flowed with mystery, drama, terror, and much more. If you like hearing mysterious stories, this book is the perfect match for you!
This book is about a thirteen year-old girl named Ali who finds an old photograph of three people. Two of them are her mother and aunt Dulcie, but the other person is ripped out of the picture. Ali tries to find out who the missing person is. She then decides to go off on vacation with her aunt and cousin. But she meets a mean and rude girl named Sissy, who starts to ruin her vacation. She sometimes appears out of no where and sometimes she comes back in a flash. No one knows who she is and no one knows where she comes from.
When I read this book, it gave me goose bumps from how mysterious and dramatic it becomes. But it caused me to keep reading more and more. What happens in this book is always very unexpected, which most people love.
I recommend this book to anyone that is older than the age of 10, since it is an easy read but entertaining at the same time.
This book literally goes down deep, dark, and dangerous!

Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen

nguyen.amye, June 8, 2010

The book Flipped is full of happiness, sadness, drama, comedy, and romance all in one! This book is definitely a book you won't be able to put down once you start reading it.
This book is very well-written, in a way that not very many books have. The author, Wendelin Van Draanen, used writing that shows you a view from both of the main character's perspective. Which makes this book much more exciting and easy to understand.
Flipped is about two young people who finds their "true love" in the most unusual way. It is about a young girl named Julianna and a young boy named Bryce. Julianna has a new neighbor who just moved in. Bryce is her new neighbor, whom she starts to like. Bryce has been her crush for many years now ever since she met him. But her feelings for him has been going on and off. Now Bryce on the other hand, thinks Julianna is annoying and weird, and starts to shun her. But Bryce's opinion off Julianna is also on and off.
I recommend this book to any age group since I think it would be very entertaining to anyone. Both boys and girls, both adults and children. There are many extreme cliff-hangers that makes you want to keep reading more and more.
Flipped is honestly the best book I have ever read. The title "Flipped" is not an exaggeration. It is literally FLIPPED!

The Book of Three (Chronicles of Prydain #1) by Lloyd Alexander
The Book of Three (Chronicles of Prydain #1)

nguyen.amye, June 7, 2010

The Book of Three is overflowed with adventure, suspense, comedy, action, and much more. This book leaves you with tons of cliff-hangers and drags you into reading more and more.
It is well-written by Lloyd Alexander, whom is a very great writer. This book is fast and easy to read but is entertaining at the same time.
The theme of this book is that anyone can be a hero no matter who they are and what they look like as long as they have the courage to do something.
The Book of Three is about a young teenager named, Taran who wishes to be a hero. All he does is dream about adventure, but he becomes an Assistant Pig-Keeper instead. One day, the oracular pig he watches after, Hen Wen, runs off into the forest of Prydian. From then on, the adventure he has always wished of begins. His new journey leads him to danger but also leads him to some new friends.
I recommend this book to an age group between 8-18 since it is very entertaining and an easy read. But anyone can read this book if they would like because it is definitely a book that you cannot put down!
