Coldfire Trilogy #01: Black Sun Rising by C S Friedman
Coldfire Trilogy #01: Black Sun Rising

For those who never heard of this novel: give it a try and read it! A brilliantly executed mix of fantasy and SF, "The Coldfire Trilogy" is an action and adventure pack fantasy with wonderfully crafted characters and at the same time a profound reflection on the power of religion and the concept of redemption. Besides, I'm afraid in most cases it takes just a few pages in the company of a certain Gerald Tarrant, the novel's main (anti)hero, to fall in love hopelessly and completely... Great book!

Melusine by Sarah Monette

A fascinating and originally crafted novel with great characters, at once innovative and well-set in the fantasy tradition. A rare gem, worthy of discovery!
