As a latinoamerican I loved this novel, The way she describes Alexander's experiences and how the whole travel to an unknown world, (with a special grandma) makes him change his point of view about eveything in life. I think the initial Alexander is a reflection of the way most people feels about jungle and the unknown (and how ignorant we city people are)
Its a great book for young people, to see there is more than cities and technology, and maybe a good way to make us worry about what's happening to the Amazonia
