Lost Memory of Skin by Russell Banks
Lost Memory of Skin

rabidbookreader, January 1, 2013

Lost Memory of Skin is a book that resonates with the reader long after he has read it. Banks makes the reader empathize with the character named the Kid, who is a convicted sex offender. The Kid in many ways is an innocent, both a victim of his absentee parents and the Internet culture which makes it difficult to distinguish between reality and fantasy. Rather than trying to justify the "Kid" actions, Banks explores the shades and nuances of the Kid's crime.
