Lizzy Gardner #2: Dead Weight by T. R. Ragan
Lizzy Gardner #2: Dead Weight

I was hooked after reading the first one, but this one, delves deeper in to the peripheral characters, not just Lizzie. You wind up emotionally attached to the characters and wondering if you would go out side the law if you had been through the things that Hayley had. Or you can relate to goody two shoes Jessica. You are kept guessing, and turning pages faster and faster as the suspense builds.

Second Grave on the Left by Darynda Jones

I received book one in this series as a gift, read it in a record time, and instantly bought this one. I am engrossed in this series and feel as if I personally know each character in it. They are all very real, and very well writted. I love that it is a page turner, keep you on the edge of your seat book, that will then have you giggling and then turns steamy as well. What more could you want in a book? NOTHING! I can not believe I have not discovered this series before now. This book will draw you in from the beginning and will consume you. Time will pass and before you know it, you will be almost done with this book, and will be craving more. You have to get all four in this series they are great.

First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones
First Grave on the Right

I received this book as a gift, I read the jacket and figured it would be good for a snowy boring day. New Year's eve I opened this book at about 7pm and finished it in a record 5 hours. It kept me turning pages and on the edge of my seat, while making me burst in to giggles and get odd looks from my husband. I highly suggest reading this book, you will not regret it, and you will fall in love with Charlie, Reyes, Swopes, Cookie, and the rest of the characters. They are very well written, and very believeable. I give this a 5 out of 5.

Lost Boys by Orson Scott Card

I was 14 when my mom bought this book for my 16 year old brother to read. He never opened it, so I did. This book was intricate and deep that I did not fully grasp the enormity and seriousness of the situation until I reread it again at 18. This book is very detailed and descriptive, haunting and disturbing. It seems to come too close to real life, and it will stay with you. The character developement of the main characters is deep, and moving it will leave you crying with them. I am still haunted by this book and get chills remembering it. Step and Stevie are very well developed and Deanne too, but the two younger children are not as well written. This is a great read, but is very trying mentally and very emotional.

Separate Reality by Carlos Castaneda

This is not the book to read if you are sleepy or can not concentrate on the topic at hand. I read this book when I was young, and perhaps that is why I did not grasp the concept and oddity of Don Juans flowing energy. However, I did like it enough that it is still on my book shelf many years later. I think I will try to find the time to reread this book and see just how much more makes sense to me.
