At Home in the Vineyard: Cultivating a Winery, an Industry, and a Life

Susan Sokol Blosser's "At Home in the Viineyard" is an honest, candid, from-the-heart memoir of a woman who helped pioneer the Oregon wine industry while experiencing numerous victories and defeats along the way. Her story covers personal issues with her husband and family, the evolution of the wine industry in Oregon, and her own evolution as a businesswoman who learns many of her lessons the hard way. Her exciting stories include her decision to convert the Sokol Blosser winery into an enterprise focused on sustainability, sensitive to environmental protection. I consider this a must-read for anyone interested in the topics of: wine production and vineyard management, family run business, Willamette Valley history, sustainability, and memoirs that cover the grit as well as the glamour of an interesting, meaningful life.
