Having grown up in a built-from-stockplans ranch circa 1956, in the middle of a "ranch" suberb of a small southern town,the germ of the idea is sometimes amazing and always exciting for me to see. Open, livable but pretty bland and still going its own 50's way, I wonder if my childhood home would even recognize its more exotic parents, much less wish that more were more.
