Dreadful; Awful. Irving's worst. Nothing new in spite of his self-delusional praise for his prior books. Heard same drivel before & from beginning writers. (Who cares; about the semi-colon?). Had hoped for some Irving substance; like Cider House. Yes; he can write; but not this time;;;;;;;;

Yes, not his best. But, I ask all readers, just how many "no-hitters" can one author pitch? So far, he has 5 "no hitters". This book is a fast ball over the plate, a worthy read from America's Best.
