This high school student that is having a great start to his senior year. He trains all summer for football because he wants a starting position on his 8 man team. His best friend Carter trains with him. At football tryouts he tries to make quarterback, but he doesn’t get it; although, he does get his starting position. His year is going great; he has the best girlfriend in the school and the team is winning every game. Then they face their rivals Salmon River. Before the game the coach tells them to purposely take out there best player who happens to be black. He yells when it happens and that is when it all goes downhill. It has good plot turns and a great climax. I liked it because this can happen to anyone and it probably has happened to a lot of people around the world. It isn’t one of those happy ending but a good ending for this book. I think the author was describing something that may have happened to him. This could just be him getting rid of the sadness if it happened to him. Just think what you would do if that happened to you how you would act. This is a good book to read. This book is a great book for grades 8 and up. This is a great book and if you like sports or a little romance or if you just like the author then you should read this book and have some fun.
