The statement that this book is "the first encyclopedic reference work that profiles superheroes from all companies and in all media" is not quite correct. "The Encyclopedia of Super Heroes" by Jeff Rovin and published by Facts on File was published October 1985. It not only included super heroes from all companies and media, but included super heroes from outside the US as well. I was always disappointed that Mr. Rovin never did any follow-up editions to include missing information and keep the book current. Hopefully this will not be the case with "The Superhero Book".
