Al Capone Does My Shirts by Gennifer Choldenko
Al Capone Does My Shirts

This past spring break i actually got the opportunity to visit Alcatraz Island. It was spectacular! I had never been there and the self tour was just great! Before leaving we stopped at the gift shop and i purchased this book. Reading this book gave you the impression that you were on the island when the prisoners and several families were still there. After reading the book i was curious about Al Capone and decided to do a bit of research on him. I read several interesting facts but one that stands in my mind was that his favorite colors were Canary Yellow and Pea Soup Green!!!Over all I enjoyed the book and would definatly recomend it to any peson who just loves a bit of history in the mix!

A real bumer to know it was the end of a great series. I would have rated a "5" if Lemony Snicket had not left me hanging with several unanswered questions!!!!

Peaches by Jodi Lynn Anderson
Peaches

Peaches is an unbelivably great book. As soon as i started reading i could not put it down! Through out the book you to feel connected to the characters, which makes putting it down depressing. I love to read a good book and it takes a lot to impress me for a book to be one of my favorites. I was impressed by the complete story line of Peaches and it is know one of my TOP favorite books! I am anxious to get my hands on the sequel The Secrets of Peaches. I'm hoping the sequel will be just as great as the first. If your looking for a great summer read Peaches is definatly the book for you.
