Last Shot: A Final Four Mystery (Final Four Mysteries) by John Feinstein
Last Shot: A Final Four Mystery (Final Four Mysteries)

sam.gomez54, June 10, 2010

Last Shot is a unsuspectingly good book. I picked up this book because I have a love for basketball and when I saw that this book includes both a championship game and a blackmailing mastermind I thought I MUST READ THIS BOOK. The book is mainly about a star basketball player named Chip who is getting blackmailed and must throw the NCAA championship game to have the blackmailing stop. But when two kids named Steven and Susan help Chip uncover who is behind the blackmailing everything changes. Again this book is superb and I recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery and loves the game of basketball.

Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10

sam.gomez54, June 8, 2010

Lone Survivor, is the most exhilarating books I have ever read. It shows that brothers don't need to be in blood. It shows how compassion and a purpose helps you push through. This is Operation Red Wing. Operation Red Wing was led by Navy SEAL's and the leader of the group Marcus Lutrell. They were sent to kill a Taliban terrorist that had lots and lots of power. On their way to the journey they are ambushed by 150 Taliban soldiers, they are outnumbered 150 to 5. His "brothers" fought valiantly and courageously beside him, but did not make it. Marcus was the last alive. A RPG blast blew down the face of a mountain leaving him terribly injured and presumed dead. This is my favortie part and the most exhilarating part to me. This is only when the adventure starts. And to add on top of this its all a TRUE story. Read, Lone Surviovr, by Marcus Lutrell.

The Book of Three (Chronicles of Prydain #1) by Lloyd Alexander
The Book of Three (Chronicles of Prydain #1)

sam.gomez54, June 7, 2010

This book is a classical middle age story, but is one of the best I have read. I think this because Lloyd Alexander changes the classical story theme of the damsels in distress and the knights in shining armor. This story is more about the main character (Taran) making a name for himself instead of being a assistant pig-keeper. He embarks on a journey to save a pig named Hen Wen. Hen Wen has a magical oracle power (AKA can see into the future). Some themes in this book are humbleness and heroism. I think this because through the book Taran become more and more humble and more and more like a hero. I wont spoil it all, so make sure to read Book of Three by Lloyd Alexander.
