Loved reading again about the wonderful characters from A Movable Feast, and seeing those same events through Hadley. I always was a big Hadley fan, and I enjoyed seeing the book unfold from her perspective even anticipating the bitter sweet ending. Her softer, more introspective (and probably more honest) voice made reading about the Hemingway lifestyle more human.
I found The Art of Racing in the Rain on a book sale table and because of the dog on the cover, I bought it. Little did I know that the book would become one of the most provocative books I was to read in years. Enzo's bittersweet story of love and devotion in his life engulfed me, reminding me of my poignant relationships to my beloved Dotty and Stella. I spent several chapters wiping my eyes (and glasses), but couldn't leave the novel alone. My sincere thanks to Garth Stein for encouraging me to reflect on those two precious relationships, as Enzo's story unfolded.

I found The Art of Racing in the Rain on a book sale table and because of the dog on the cover, I bought it. Little did I know that the book would become one of the most provocative books I was to read in years.
