Disappearing World: 101 of the Earth's Most Extraordinary and Endangered Places by Alonzo C. Addison
Disappearing World: 101 of the Earth's Most Extraordinary and Endangered Places

saraj, February 12, 2008

Loved it -- clear and beautiful introduction to the dangers the world's most important places are faced with. The mixture of natural and archaeological and architectural wonders was new but makes perfect sense. it starts with a world map, and then has the plane'ts most important places grouped by the threats to them. Each one has a description, nice detail map to help put it in context, and dramatic photos. Even some fun facts on each one.

A beautiful large format book with 101 different sites to keep you thinking about the planet and your next destination!
