The Green Knight by Iris Murdoch
The Green Knight

sburgundy, June 9, 2009

This book is incredibly difficult to describe--Murdoch manages to marry a murder mystery, dozens of character studies, mythical elements, and even some dark comedy in this novel, which follows the dramatic goings-on of two connected families and their network of friends.

I initially scoffed at the cover blurb saying that this book makes you feel like you've just "feasted at a table of ideas." But in the end, that's how I felt. This was my first Iris Murdoch book, and certainly won't be my last.
