It has been a long time since I read this book and therefore the fact that I remember that it introduced me to Thanatos and the story of the humongous turd that is saved in a baggie on the mantle of the frat house makes me feel, after 40 years, that it might be worth revisiting.
Also memorable is the false story that Richard died falling off the back of Bob Dylans motorcycle.
If I remember correctly he was married to Joan Baezs' sister and he had a great folk album called Celebration for a Grey Day
