Can't Wait to Get to Heaven by Fannie Flagg
Can't Wait to Get to Heaven

selective reader, July 11, 2014

Fannie Flagg is a great writer and she just keeps getting better and better as time goes on. She excels at creating wonderful characters who find themselves in tricky situations. This is one of the funniest books I have ever read. A must read for anyone who is looking for an upbeat novel that will have you laughing out loud more than you expect. I highly recommend this book.

Something Blue by Emily Giffin
Something Blue

What an Amazing audio book! This book starts where Something Borrowed ended and goes deeper into the character of Darcy with some nice surprises along the way. Emily Giffin's sequel to her last book was so good I could hardly stop listening to it. I finished it in two days! Jennifer Wiltsie as the reader is an added bonus. This should be on your summer reading or listening list!

Time of My Life by Patrick Swayze
Time of My Life

selective reader, July 6, 2014

A wonderful audio book! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book that is mostly read by Patrick Swayze with small sections read by Lisa Niemi. This book goes into great detail on the life of Patrick Swayze both as a dancer and also as an actor. I am a huge Patrick Swayze fan and am just now getting to this book many year after his death. Do not miss this great book!

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Gone Girl

selective reader, July 6, 2014

A Must Read! Gillian Flynn has a definite page turner in the Gone Girl. This is a little different than her two previous novels. In this book she flips back and forth between two different narrators to give two different points of view. The two narrators are the two main characters of the book. It makes for an interesting book that will keep you reading well into the night. This is in no way a predictable story. There are plenty of surprises and lots of excitement to be found here. A book you should not miss!

The Matchmaker by Elin Hilderbrand
The Matchmaker

selective reader, July 6, 2014

I loved this book! Elin Hilderbrand just gets better and better with each book she writes. This novel is about a lost love that is recaptured after many years apart. It is a heartwarming story that takes place on the island of Nantucket. The main character is well known for her matchmaking abilities. It is filled with laughter, love, forgiveness, a touch of sadness and some very lively characters. A Definite Page Turner!
