This book is so beautifully written. The children are ideal, perhaps not quite true to life, but exactally how you would hope they'd be.
The magic in this world is very thick, however, it is mostly the magic of the every-day and ordinary, the kind that children find all over but grown-ups miss.
The story weaves in many characters, but each are well formed and interact believably with eachother and the children.
Reading this book truly feels like opening a present, no matter how many times I read it, I find something new to make me fall in love with it all over again.
