I loved being manipulated by this book. By going from feeling one way about the characters to feeling completely differently about them by book's end. I think I rooted for every main character, and none of them, at some point during the read.

The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood
The Year of the Flood

I think about this book and the world Margaret Atwood creates with both this book and "Oryx and Crake", all the time. It is eerily insightful into future, and in some ways current, events, but this is not such a surprise given the research that went into the writing. Ms. Atwood first affected my life with "The Handmaid's Tale", she has not lost her influential touch.
