This is an excellent and informative book until page 139 where the sales pitch for AA begins. Incredibly, the authors criticize AA as being moralistic, but insist all alcoholics must attend AA meetings for life anyway. This is like telling people they must go to church, but ignore the part about how Jesus Christ died for our sins.
They also disagree with AA "folk wisdom" about coffee and sweets. Why criticize AA, then turn around and send people there?
