I read this book when I was in elementary school. I am now 50 years old and I still say that it was one of my favorite childhood books. My son gave me a book called "Reflections from a Mother's Heart" in which you are asked to write the answers to various questions, one of them being, "What were some of the most memorable books you read as a child?" I wrote "Island of the Blue Dolphins". Now that I am older I plan to get a copy and read it again, some 38 years later.
