This book is definately a book for all cat fans. it is very interesting in the way that you are taken to a different place and you cant help but hold your breath as the plot unfolds to reveal what treacherous actions have been taken. This story revolves around fireheart, who was formally a kittypet (housecat), as he joins a clan of cats that live in the forest outside of his old home. He realizes that he belongs in the forest and makes friends with some of his fellow apprentices (cats that are training to be warriors). At first it is rough for him as he has to work hard to earn the trust of his clanmates and his main antagonists refuse to allow him peacefully into the clan. He soon discovers that there is a traitor in the clan and he has to work hard to reveal it to the clan. This book is a great demonstration of how little we understand about the lives of cats and what goes on in their mnds.

This book is very insightful into the lives of wolves in ancient times and how they developed a relationship with the humans of their time. For anyone who enjoy books such as 'Warriors' by Erin Hunter or 'Watership Down' by Richard Adams, will be unable to put this book down once they have started. Folowing the journey of a young, half blood wolf nammed Kaala as she seeks acceptance into her pack and faces the challenges laid before her. whilst trying to prevent the war between humans and wolves that is looming before them and threatening the futere existence of all humans and wolves on the planet. spellbindingly creative and mysterious, this book is a must-have for all animal fans.
