Not being a bookworn myself, i found this novel exiting and interesting to read. Bryce Courtney has done a wonderful job writing this novel and i commend him. The story line is amazing giving an insight to life in the 20th century and reading about the struggles back in those days. I cant help but feel for Jessica throughout this story, the love she holds for her child and secret love is admiring. The sacrifices Jessica makes and the struggle she goes through show how heartless some can be, especially greedy relations. I hated parts of this story because they did not end how i wanted them to and Jessica was left on the bones of her arse but yet she was a couragoeus young lady and i loved every minute of this novel. I would highly recommend it to any new bookworm and i applaud Bryce Courtney for his great efforts.
