Before I'd finished the first chapter, this book had blown my mind with its plausible yet unsettling future. This extrapolation of life after the Singularity for those left behind was by turns amusing, grim, and wondrous. Especially enjoyable were the references to other works and the savaging of contemporary social norms, seen from a perspective hundreds of years in the future.
