While many people are not aware of the hardships that mexican families or any other family living in a harsh and povered community such as the one that tomas has described in his book, is unrealistic. Only living and experiencing the way of life and the dream that one hopes to accomplish is harder than it seems. Looking through the eyes of this young child, makes it seem a reality of how hard it is living and trying to accomplish the american dream of living a good and prosperious life.
