Homeland is the beginning of the story of Drizzt and is a must read for any fan of the realms. It details Drizzt's youth in Menzoberranzan, one of the largest drow cities. You can feel the conflict Drizzt has as he tries to live within his society but is sickened by the pervasive evil. R.A. Salvatore brilliantly brings this story to life with his typically deep characters and immersive plot lines.

R.A. Salvatore bring a new series of characters to life in this quintet of books. Cadderly a cleric and hobby inventor must save the region from a new threat. With the help of his friends Danica-a dedicated monk and love interest, Ivan-your typical dwarf, and Ivan's brother, Pikel-a budding druid. Little does Cadderly know that the force behind this new threat comes from his past.

These three books are simply amazing. R.A.Salvatore spins the tale of a noble dark elf caught within the hate-filled and evil world of his kin. It follows his journey to find himself and ultimately to find acceptance with brilliant battles of sword and magic along the way.

Forgotten Realms Novel: The Harpers #09: Crown of Fire by Ed Greenwood

This book is brilliant which is what we've come to expect from Ed Greenwood. This is the original continuation of the story of the spellfire wielder,Shandril. Note that the Shandril's saga trilogy contains the expanded and revised story but this is the original.
