The Untold History of the United States by Oliver Stone and Peter Kuznick
The Untold History of the United States

tantalouge, January 3, 2013

This is the best critical history of U.S. foreign policy I've read in a while. You might expect an over-the-top polemic from Stone, given the style of most of his movies, but you'd be wrong. This is a breezy tour through the dark side of the American Empire that doesn't get bogged down in ideology or leftist ranting. They also resuscitate names that have been all-but-lost to today's students of American history, such as Henry Wallace.
