I don't read a lot of historical fiction, but I read a lot of crime fiction. This book is a beautiful blend of historical crime fiction. I found it so easy to read and very enjoyable. I seriously cannot recommend this book enough! It was for sure the best book I read in 2010.
This story is utterly heart breaking. To know that a family stood by their daughter's hospital bed for five weeks amazed that they were lucky enough to have her survive only to have that taken away in one quick second: Please write your name ... W-H-I-T-N-E-Y, is a horrible realization. With that they finally realized that there had been a horrible mistake. This is the story of the Van Ryn and Cerak families. They open their hearts to the world and tell their story with this book. This is a story that cannot be ignored.

This book was simply amazing. It was gripping and suspenseful from the first page. Paul Copeland is searching for answers surrounding the death of his sister 20 years ago. He simply cannot let her death go - mainly because her body was never found. When the body of the man his sister was with that fateful night is found recently murdered, Paul has to get to the truth, no matter the consequences. Harlan Coben definitely delivers with "The Woods." This is a can't-put-it-down, edge-of-your-seat read that must not be missed!!
