A great book. A lot of dark, foreboding imagery. Reminiscent of Lord of the Flies, as it looks at the damaging psychological effects of bullying and what children can be capable of.
Great piece of writing by John Connolly. A boy gets lost in a parallel universe during the first world war and is searching for his way back. Connolly takes a dark spin on popular fairy tales like Snow White, and weaves it seamlessly into the storyline. You won't want to put this down one you've started!

Loved this book!! I loved the parallelism of modern day with Norse mythology. Great plot with suspense and great descriptions. Looking forward to the sequel!
