Stop-Time: A Memoir by Frank Conroy
Stop-Time: A Memoir

tiennewhite, February 13, 2012

The writing is excellent in this book. I was assigned to read this within 3 weeks for my writing 121 class. Although it is hard to follow, catch on and compare yourself to, it is very memorable and touching. Frank Conroy's memoir is my first memoir i have read and i can say i wouldn't mind reading more. It is amazing how detailed he gets even though it dates back to 1930's. It runs around from present to past stories, making your head race around to catch up with what part of life he is it. The characters, his friends, family etc. are all very well portrayed in their own way. His sister seems to distant herself as if this nuts family never existed and frank searches out for ways to occupy himself, making friends along the way with crazy happenings through school, travel and work.
