This is a book i have wanted from the first time i heard the author on NPR and i have not been let down. To say this book is exciting may be wrong because it was an awful event in our history but to have a story written in first person about such event its just unreal. As you read it you think, how would i handle it, are we ever ready for something like this. This book takes you there. You are there sitting in the window of his apartment with no water, no power, no sound from outdoor life. You are there when he goes down streets where life was full of noise and now only blackness.I must say it is one of the best books i have ever read.
