An epic story that makes you feel as if you are living in the rural hills of France. Get this book instead of just "Jean de Florette" as it is the complete story. Deceit has a strange way of coming back to bite you in the butt.

The lady that wrote this book writes it as seen from the main character, the dashing wanna-be doctor who becomes a friend of King Charles II. A great book . Robert Downey Jr. stars in the movie version and pulled off a part very well that I didn't think he could.

the story really pulls you along as you go from one group of characters to the next (about four groups in all) and how they are woven together. one character is known as "the almost queen" after her husband, the king, tells her that she can no longer be his queen. beauty of a book. i would also highly recommend "Restoration" from the same author.

This woman was amazing, and so were her photographs. My partner and I kept laughing about how her husband seemed almost useless; she worked so hard to keep things going whether it was running the house and ranch or going on long outings hunting.

Great stories of the earliest travelers and settlers of the desert southwest. Also, curious accounts of the flora and fauna of the region.(1 of 2 readers found this comment helpful)
