I teach 3 - 5 year old children in a pre-school setting. I use this book to help validate and talk about emotions. The children seem to relate to Sophie and the reason for her anger. The children learn a new way to manage their anger by following Sophie through the book. The illustrations are wonderful and portray the theme of the book well so that young children can re-tell the story before they are able to read the text. I use this book in the classroom to introduce the "cozy corner" so children know they have a place within the classroom where they can go when they feel angry or the need to just be alone for a bit. Great book for social/emotional learning!
