This is the only book that I've ever read which I truly could not stand. Yes, it was supposedly honest - but the things that were said in this book would not be stood if said by the same people with a different skin color. It made me sad to see read it, and I don't view it as an adequate portrayal of the thoughts of young African-American girls.
