I and all my girlfriends read this book in 1976/77. I along with them, were inspired by this book to have our babies at home. We broke away from the standard hospital procedures that had existed for years and decided to do things our way. A small revolution was inspired by this wonderful book, which finally made the hospitals sit up and pay attention to us. They thought we were crazy. One doctor told me to go to Africa if I wanted to have a natural birth. All the wonderful facilities that hospitals now suply, such as birthing centres, allowing fathers to be present, etc have only come about because of the movement we began based on the knowledge that this book contains. It seems that this book is needed now more than ever as many women have opted for cesareans and drugs, more out of fear and ignorance, than necessity. I recommend this book to every future mother and father .
