I visited Portland recently to walk the 10K in the Portland Marathon. I am from Louisiana. I was overwhelmed when I went to Powell's Books and saw the book, "Tails from Katrina"! I volunteered at the main clearing center for Katrina animals in Gonzales, LA which was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. As I glanced through this marvelous book, which I bought, I was so touched. I was emotional as I saw the pictures of the animals and realized how much Portland helped in this tremendous rescue operation. I am so proud of our country becuase of the support we give to one another. Tails from Katrina is evidence of how Portland cared. Thank you so much for helping!
