Reading the memories of a young woman who should not have succeeded as Liz has causes me to be grateful for my sheltered life. She was tenacious, forgiving and possesses courage far beyond my life so far. While I wouldn't use her book to guilt a spoiled teen, I've recommended this book to many young people to give them a focus on their own lives - to encourage them to fight for their goals and not to give up easily. I'm so glad that I found this book, one of 100 that I read last year.

she chronicled her life so well - I felt like I was living it with her, seeing her house built, her boys grow up. I gave a few copies away as gifts.
