I was so delighted with this small book! Does the Queen read? If so, what does she read and when? What a delightful idea for a book.
Mr. Bennett did a wonderful job taking 'one' into the Queen's world. I think this a great book for anyone. All the scenes were wonderfully described, but the one that I loved the best was the dogs response to the Queen's reading - I could just see them grabbing a book and shaking it and then dragging it off to finish the destruction.

If you have ever wondered what else was going on in New Orleans after Katrina went on it's merry way; Dave Egger's book, Zeitoun, can give you a whole different perspective.
Struggling to save his property and stay in touch with his wife who left New Orleans with their children, Mr. Zeitoun encounters others who stayed behind. His view of the aftermath is not that of the Superdome, but it isn't much better either.
After all the horror stories this one really shook me to the core. Here is a man who truly loves his adopted city and it's mirade inhabitants; yet ends up arrested and put into prision simply because know one bothered to check out his story.
Yes, yes I know, things were a mess, however, with a few hours of research the whole fiasco that Mr. Zeitoun endured could have been avoided. I blame inept leadership for this sort of thing and while I realize that everyone was ordered to evacuate, people like Mr. Zeitoun made a big difference for others because they didn't.
Not one of those powerhouse books; Egger's journalistic career makes this an easy and interesting read. I highly recommend it.
