Her husband died in 1927, leaving M. Wylie Blanchet alone with five small children. Acting as both mother and captain of the twenty-five-foot boat that became her family’s home during summers on the coast of Vancouver Island, Blanchet has wonderfully documented their adventures.

I made a comment about this book yesterday and was thinking of another book about Vancouver Island that I had read about the same time a year ago. Although this is a great book it not the one about a single mother with her five children spending summers on the coast of Vancouver Island. That one is "The Curve of Time" A GREAT read.
This book is also a great book about Billy Proctor growing up on Vancouver Island and its logging and fishing history.
I apologise for the mistake and hope all will enjoy both of these books as much as I did.
