Buried In Treasures Help For Compulsive Acquiring Saving & Hoarding
by

this book has and continues to help me take care of a problem I wasn't sure I had, until I tried to move my 1800Sq ft house in to a 400 sq ft apartment and was threatened with eviction. As I started to work through the steps and information I realized this behavior started with my mother when I was very young. She was what was lovingly referred to as a "pack rat"and the depth of her problem only became really evident when we were clearing out the house and saw the mountain of stuff she had. If any of this resonates with you, this book may be your salvation.

Hidden Girl The True Story of a Modern Day Child Slave
by
Shyima Hall, Lisa Wysocky

I just finished this lovely little book and am very impressed by the well written story. This very young girl sold into slavery in Egypt and then smuggled into the USA has told her story to many sources but this book gives us the real story in her words. A very quick read, definitely suitable for teenagers/young adults and for those of us who are adults. Her struggles and triumphs are amazing, from learning to read and write, to seeing her captors prosecuted and jailed. Her courage and stamina see her through the legal and personal obstacle course of our modern life.

Something Borrowed, Someone Dead: An Agatha Raisin Mystery
by
M. C. Beaton

I love cozies! and MC Beaton writes some of the best. This Agatha Raisin mystery takes place in the Cotswalds where Agatha lives after retiring from her high pressure PR agency in London. Not content with puttering in the garden,Agatha finds herself drawn into one strange crime scene after another. With the help of her employees at the detective agency she's opened and friends she arrives at the solution and finds some romance along the way. Always a quick read, I'm very happy to have a new adventure to experience.

Gilt Trip
by
Laura Childs

If you're new to Laura Childs cozies snuggle into the corner of the couch with your coffee or tea and perhaps a biscuit or two because you'll find her latest just as hard to put down as all the rest. Ms Childs is a delightful author who consistantly provides her readers with well formed characters, enchanting descriptions of the setting and suspense. The mystery begins on page one with a scrap booking project and wends its way to the very end. There are two other series penned by this author that merit perusal. Look for the Tea Shop Mysteries and The Cackleberry Club series.

Murder & Mayhem in Portland Oregon
by
Jd Chandler

This slim volume has some enlightning information about the history of my home town and how the relationship between the races evolved. The author presents the information in simple to understand language without being too graphic. It is fascinating to read chronologically about the way our city was divided early in its history. Some of the stories I had heard about but most were new to me. But perhaps the most intriguing is how and when the interaction of the races changed. A very good quick read. Mr Chandler has a new fan!

Knitting from the Center Out An Introduction to Revolutionary Knitting with 28 Modern Projects
by
Daniel Yuhas, Sun Young Park

This is a well written book with a lot of tips about the technique. There are projects for everyone and every occasion. Toys, hats, blankets, sweaters, and socks. Good diagrams, and clearly written explanations of each step. I am an experienced knitter, used to reading poorly written patterns and able to figure out what the authors have left out assuming everyone would "know" what was intended. I believe a novice knitter could complete these projects with just a little bit of help. Worth the price!
