I loved the journey (literally and figuratively) that Ann Patchett took me on in this book. I find her books so compelling and this was no different. I loved that I was totally surprised at the ending!

In the Garden of Beasts Love Terror & an American Family in Hitlers Berlin

I love Erik Larson's fascinating accounts of slices of history. This book is no exception. This was such an interesting (disturbing) view of Hitler's rise to power. You knew the train wreck was about to happen, but you were seeing the wreck from a totally different angle. It spurred me on to read further about Antisemitism because it is so hard to comprehend so much hatred.
