I think this is my favorite Anne Tyler book. The image of her walking down the beach to find herself haunts me. A wonderful story of a woman finding out who she is and then how she relates to her family. It is a journey that all of us should take.

Maybe it was the ballet, but this was the favorite book i read this year. i enjoyed the back and forth between present day and the memories of the russian ballerina. the book was obviously well researched as i did not see any flaws one the author wrote about ballet.
