I just saw this book and author on Oregon Public Broadcasting Evening News, 01-17-2014. I plan to purchase this new book and read it immediately. I greatly admire Kaiser Permanente's performance under the leadership of George Halvorson.

Best American Science & Nature Writing 2013

An outstanding series of "essays" by experienced writers on stimulating subjects and important people and issues. I did not like every selection chosen, but the opportunity to access most of these was most valuable. I found the chosen writings/articles to be very intelligently presented stories of significant current subjects and issues. Another advantage is that readers with limited time, such as during an airline flight's duration, can enjoy significant, well-written insights into major aspects of current events, trends, and in our American and world culture.
