Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. Tale of Three Trees A Traditional Folktale

This book is one of the most touching Christmas books that I have ever read. I first heard about it when our Pastor (Beaverton Foursquare Church) read it to our congregation one Christmas eve service and displayed the pictures up on a large screen. The message is simple but profound. The pictures lead the reader to understand the message of Christ's birth and life in a very meaningful way. This is a book for families to enjoy for many years to come.

Nirvana In A Cup

This book is the most inspirational business book I have ever read and I highly recommend it. "Nirvana in a cup" is a wonderful true-life story about a woman and her daughter who have a dream--a dream to bring an enchanting and delicious drink called chai to America. It is a delightful story, full of the challenges and pitfalls, tears and joy of what it takes to pursue a passion. Their persistence paid off--eventually this enterprising mother and daughter duo sold their company for 75 million dollars. To all the "Foodies" out there who want to know how to take their product from mind to market: this is a book that you will find especially helpful. You won't want to put it down.
