Mastering The Art Of Fly Tying
by
Richard Talleur
ebergmann
, March 17, 2008
Dick Talleur is one of the best no-nonsense fly tying instructors in the country. His books reflect his pragmatic approach to fly tying; in general simpler is better. Additionally, Dick sprinkles useful tips throughout his text, tips which are useful both to beginning and advanced fly tyer. I would recommend this book to the beginner as an excellent introduction to basic techniques and several useful patterns as well to the advanced tyer as a source of useful tiips.

Private Pilot Manual 7th Edition
by
Jeppesen Sanderson Inc.
ebergmann
, March 14, 2008
This is the standard manual used in most private pilot ground schools. As such, it contains everything a student needs to pass the private pilot written exam. These manuals have been in publication for a long time, and all of the kinks, errors, etc have been corrected. It is important to note that this manual is currently in its 9th edition. There have been some recent changes in airspace definitions and FAA regulations which may not be reflected in this edition. Still. this is certainly a worthwhile book for the aspiring pilot.
