Anne Rivers Siddons
Dear Reader
, May 05, 2012
Anne Rivers Siddons always writes what I cannot put down or stop thinking about. I hated to love the ending. I do know how the main character felt because I felt the same way from the abrupt revelations at the end of the story. A heartbreaking, but comforting love story - this book is filled with conflicts as rough as the ocean waves in the Atlantic and the beauty of the shore in Maine. I highly recommend this book.

Everything Matters
by
Ron Currie
Dear Reader
, November 27, 2011
Everything Matters by Ron Currie, Jr is a thought provoking story. If you are teetering on the fence about religion or even if you are an atheist, this book will inspire you to read the book of Revelations. Currie's characters are very real and the story is a page-turner. I highly recommend "Everything Matters."

Grave Secrets temperance Brennan 05
by
Kathy Reichs
Dear Reader

Ms Reichs' Grave Secrets is a wonderful book about forensic anthropology. The only thing that would make it better is if she would explain some of the terms and methods to those of us who do not have training in that field.

Artifacts
by
Mary Anna Evans
Dear Reader
, February 06, 2010
This is a great murder mystery story complete with political aspirations. Her characters are believable. Ms Evans describes the scenery beautifully. I would have prefered that she not have used the main characters mixed race as a problem because it never related to the story. I also would have prefered that she would have more clearly explained that the main character was digging for artifacts on her own property. I would have liked her better if I had known earlier that the artifacts were hers and that she was not merely justifying lifting artifacts because she was in financial trouble. Overall, I would recommend this book.

Marley & Me Life & Love With The Worlds Worst Dog
by
John Grogan
Dear Reader
, February 02, 2009
Dogs are such great teachers. They teach us to be patient and they teach us about unconditional love. They teach us about what is right and what is fair and how we can be better people. Grogan injects his humor by telling us how he learned things along the way such as making fun of the Boca residents then becoming one.

Blue Christmas Revised
by
Mary Kay Andrews
Dear Reader
, January 20, 2009
Mary Kay Andrews is always a delight to read. Weezie manages to pull Christmas together at her shop and at home in spite of the mysterious missing items from her shop, Jethro's escapes, and Daniel's Grinch-like attitude. It's all wrapped up in humor with a sprinkle of recipes and a dollop of romance.

Twenty-Seven Bones: A Thriller

Jonathan Nasaw
Dear Reader
, January 15, 2009
I couldn't put it down. Nasaw's psychotic killers are addictive. His stories keep me aware that one of them could be a neighbor, one of my book club members, a professor from college, or ..... Agent Pender is out of retirement and as sharp as ever. Has he found true love at last? I can't wait to read more. And Marley, will he grow up to be an agent too?

Terrible Hours The Greatest Submarine Rescue in History
by
Peter Maas
Dear Reader
, January 09, 2009
The true story of Swede Momsen’s eternal commitment to developing survival and rescue methods for sunken submarines. Although I am not normally interested in reading non-fiction of this type because it's usually very dry, Mass’s account was riveting. His presentation was interesting and memorable.

World Without End
by
Follett, Ken
Dear Reader
, December 17, 2008
Definitely could not put it down! I was sorry that the book did have an end. I also loved his "Pillars of the Earth" and this one was just as devine. Follett's characters are so real. The evil Ralph, the compassionate Merthin. Caris - so complex and lost until she finally gets it all right. The politics of the Church and the Aristocracy. Justice handed out evenly, unevenly, and in surprising ways, and not at all. Patience pays for many. I can't wait to read more of his work.

A wonderful tangle of potential perps. Great characters - Nina Reilly is a very believable, small business lawyer without any of the unbelievable martyrdom. Kenny and Jessie are adorable. Sandy is the perfect tough office assistant. Paul is a patient man - he must be in love. A page-turning thriller. I can't wait to read the other O'Shaughnessy sister's creations.

Be Nice Or Else & Whats In It For You
by
Winn Claybaugh
Dear Reader
, November 10, 2008
A very good reminder and self-check that being nice creates good Karma. Be nice and receive nice. Be nice and experience much less stress in your life. I’m amazed that something I should have already known and that I thought I practiced (but, needed a refresher on) was so helpful. A very good book to give as a gift and to keep in your personal library to read again and again.

Vanishing Acts
by
Jodi Picoult
Dear Reader
, November 10, 2008
Jodi Picoult's writing is superior. I can hear her characters speaking. I can see their faces. I can feel their joy and their pain. She has a rhythm that makes me feel like I’m there. Interesting to have each character write in the first person. I like her use of different fonts for each character. Reminds me of John Irving using all CAPS for OWEN MEANY. I'll read ALL of Picoult's works. Her books give me such a different perspective.

Pms Outlaws
by
Sharyn Mccrumb
Dear Reader
, September 10, 2008
Hilariously politically incorrect. The 'patients' at the 'hospital' are so uninhibited in their honesty. All of the characters are so believable - we all know someone like them. Jack Dolan's mysterious identity is woven into the story brilliantly and the twist at the end is clever. I almost quit reading the book after the first couple of pages, wondering what I had gotten myself into reading - then the PMS Outlaws, the vigilantes, came on the scene. I'll definitely read all of McCrumb's work.

Everlasting
by
Kathleen Woodiwiss
Dear Reader
, July 20, 2008
Everlasting is a typical and predictable romance novel. There was nothing unique about the story line or the characters. I started counting how many times the word, "wont" was overused - I lost track. I also don't believe people of that era bathed as frequently as was mentioned in the book. I did read the whole book, but will not be wont to search out additional novels by this author.

Thing About Jane Spring
by
Sharon Krum
Dear Reader
, June 06, 2008
Loved it. Not your typical “chick book” where lovely, brainy, snobby, spoiled girl finally finds love in spite of herself. Jane Spring reminds me of Sandra Bullock as Gracie Hart in “Miss Congeniality.” The character has a delightful sense of humor and a very innovative approach to catching a man and does all this without being insulting to females. I’d love to see this book as a movie starring – Sandra Bullock!

Poisonwood Bible
by
Barbara Kingsolver
Dear Reader
, May 10, 2008
Kingsolver is able to take us to places we have never been, let us smell the air, feel the breezes, hear the voices, suffer the harships, and become passionate about things we never even thought about. The division of the book from the perspective of each sister transitions well and gives a better understanding of how one situation can be viewed and acted upon so differently by the same family members. I could not put it down.
