Your Complete Guide to Leaving an Inheritance for Your Children and Others: What You Need to Know Explained Simply
by
Valles, Mike
Lucy Boyd
, August 15, 2008
Your Complete Guide to Leaving an Inheritance for Your Children and Others explains in good detail the process of creating an estate plan. A variety of options are explained to leave your wealth to your heirs as intact as possible (i.e. avoiding costly estate taxes). Mr. Valles helps you to turn your vision for your estate into a solid, safe plan. The one detractor of the book is the amount of focus spent teaching those with multi-million dollar estates how to qualify for welfare (Medicaid) should they need nursing home care in the future. This is, at best, a controversial practice which takes away from those who actually need Medicaid services to survive and feels grossly out of place in a book that espouses the instillation of positive values in your children and grandchildren. All in all, this book is packed with creative ideas and good practical advice for estate planning. I rate this book a four out of five stars.

When You Have to File for Bankruptcy: Step-By-Step Instructions to Take Control of Your Financial Future
by
Pelc, Matthew J.
Lucy Boyd
, August 15, 2008
When You Have to File for Bankruptcy is an excellent guide for anyone contemplating backruptcy. It carefully explains the pros and cons of filing bankruptcy in language anyone can understand. The different types of bankruptcy are described as well as what to expect during each stage of the process. Following the book makes it easy to be prepared with your necessary documents ahead of time. Mr. Pelc removes the fear, as well as the stigma, from filing for bankruptcy. The book also helps you repair your credit and create a budget after the bankruptcy is over, putting you back on the road to good financial health. I rate this book five out of five stars.

The Complete Guide to Creating Your Own Living Trust: A Step-By-Step Plan to Protect Your Assets, Limit Your Taxes, and Ensure Your Wishes Are Fulfill
by
Fisher, Steven D.
Lucy Boyd
, August 15, 2008
The Complete Guide to Creating Your Own Living Trust is an excellent resource for anyone considering creating a living trust. It delineates which individuals would benefit from having such an instrument as part of their estate plan. The book thoughtfully explains both the why and the how-to of the living trust as well as alternative options to safeguarding your estate. It describes how to reduce taxes on the estate as well as create a simpler, quicker transfer of wealth to your intended heirs. Sample forms are included for ease of creating the trust yourself, if you so desire. Mr. Fisher even walks the reader through the process of settling a living trust for the future trustee. This book rates five out of five stars for taking complicated subject matter and making it very easy to understand. I consider it a must-have for anyone with an estate to leave for their heirs.
