Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

I couldn't put this book down once I started it. I try to read a fair amount of books during the year (10-20) but this year I wasn't able to. Of the books I did read, this one really stood out. I enjoyed the continuing story of Dr. Langdon, and can't wait to see what's going to happen next.

Vengeance In Death eve Dallas 6

When I first started reading Nora Roberts it was because she wrote romance. I gave her In Death Series a shot because she had quickly become my favorite writer. I read Survivor In Death first without realizing that it was the 20th book in the series. I was immediately drawn into the book and couldn't set it down. I then went on a hunt to find the books that came first. I read the first five and recently finished Vengeance in Death. I have to say that the growing relationship between Roarke and Eve is definately part of what's kept me coming back to this series as often as I can. The usually bad-tempered (at least towards Eve) Summorset played a large part in this particular novel. It was very intriguing to watch how Eve fought to keep the man that she's not particularily fond of out of jail. I don't want to give away too much but Roarke is definately a large part of the investigative process. It never ceases to amaze me as to what Ms. Roberts has up her sleeve. I can't wait to continue the series just so I can find out where the next homicide will take the Death clan.
