Who knew that a Scottish talk show host/comedian could write a novel so amazing? "Between the Bridge and the River" intertwines the stories of several different characters, creating a tale that is altogether heartwarming, sad, disgusting, tender and hilarious. I highly recommend it and will read it again. I sincerely hope he writes more.

In the Night Kitchen
by
Maurice Sendak

My daughter is 29 now, but when she was little we must have read this book together a hundred times. She loved it so much. It is my favorite of all Maurice Sendak's stories. It's short and imaginative and we could both picture ourselves in the Night Kitchen with Mickey. What great fun we had with this story!
