The Story of My Life
by
J. Marion 1813-1883 Sims

Super great review of history. Dr. Sims is the father of gynecology. He lived a life like nothing we are familiar with today, but the history is worth knowing. It. makes us more enlightened and leaves us with some great historical eveents. Having worked and studied at Women's hospital in NYC I can attest the hospital has done tons of great things for the people. St. Luke's Hospital is a fantiastic place and piece of history.

As If It Didnt Happen A Memoir of Abuse Multiple Personalities & Hope
by
Maggie Claire

This book is one of a kind. It takes you into the world of little Maggie and her abuse. Almost too graphic but never quite goes over the edge. The story is so engaging as Maggie remains a sweet, little girl through years of abuse. The author is poetic, artistic and clever. Many people should read this to learn what some children endure in their childhood and come out still hopeful and playful. A must read for medical people, teachers, dentists, nurses, therapist and counselors, parents, anyone who associates with children. I could not put this book down. There are many, many different issues discussed and brought out in the story. The art work of the child, Maggie, is eye - opening. I will always look out for an abused child wherever I go since I have read this book. It was Maggie's dream to find someone to rescue her but she could not talk about it. Everyone should read this to learn the truth about child abuse.

Classic Tales Of Brer Rabbit

My mother read this to me in the 50's. I know that my mother also had this book read to her. What happens to the rabbit was sad and cruel to me. I believe that I started to care and love lost, abused and homeless animals. We read it several times growing up and it always made me feel bad for the rabbit and the jokes played on him. I also learned that when people make fun of you or laugh at your expense, it isn't nice. I have always felt that way because of this book.I will never forget it.

Story Of Little Black Sambo

My mother read this book to me as a child and I got it for my kids. I have heard some people don't like the fact that the main character is black. I think this a very sweet book. I remember the tigers running around the tree turning into butter, which was weird, so I never forgot it. It is a nice story and good things happen in the end. I don't think of this as a racial book at all. It is the story of a cute little, polite boy who goes through some scares and comes out just fine. I love it for its historical significance.

A very sweet story I bought everyone of the series. The colors and the artwork are spectacular. Every book, including this one, the original, is fantastic. Every page offers some interactive opportunities for the reader to the child. Elmer is so nice and cute that I also bought framed prints of the books. My grand children know Elmer very well. I love it.

Noisy Counting Book

I have 6 children. My last daughter and I read this book many times a week. It is a wonderful, fun, and interactive book. The art work is fun and interesting enough to draw the child in to count the objects. My little daughter loved this book as her favorite and mine too. It teaches counting in the best and fun way possible.
